Welcome to Grimmer Elementary School where we strive to meet the academic, social, physical, and emotional needs of each child. We do this within a warm, safe, and child-centered environment. We believe that learning should be transferable to real-life situations, and should involve communication and interaction among students, parents, school, and the community. As such, the diverse Grimmer School community is comprised of families from many neighborhoods in Fremont. Families choose Grimmer School for its wonderful diversity and many specialized programs. One very unique program is the 2-Way Dual Immersion program. Students who fully participate in this program become bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish and English by the end of sixth grade. While a third of the students are enrolled in 2-Way Dual Immersion, the others are being instructed in quality English-only classrooms. Other special attractions include the Arts Block Program, our K-6 Special Education Program, Family Literacy Program, differentiated instruction, on-site day care and Healthy Start. Grimmer School staff members work in Professional Learning Communities to bring a guaranteed viable curriculum to all students. They are are dedicated, nurturing, and supportive of students and their families who work hard to improve student achievement and focus on continual school improvement. Supplemental LCAP funding is used for additional resources and support staff to ensure success for each student. A community of lifelong learners, Grimmer not only teaches students what to learn; we teach them how to learn. |
