Summer Reading Programs

summer reading

Alameda County Library - World of Stories June 15 - Aug 15.  Join us this summer to explore someone else’s world, learn about our world, create your own stories and connect with other adventurers. Pick up your Adventure Guide at Fremont Main library starting June 15th.

Barnes & Nobles - Summer Reading Program Participation is a fun and easy way for kids to earn free books. They simply read a designated number of books – library books, books borrowed from friends or books bought at Barnes & Noble – write about their favorite part in our Reading Journal, and bring a completed Reading Journal to a Barnes & Noble bookstore. Children then choose their free book from the books listed on the Reading Journal and collect their free book from a store near them during July and August.

Scholastic Summer Challenge - Readapalooza Kids can log their minutes reading online, unlock online badges and rewards.  Summer Reading Scholastic starts May 4 and ends September 4. Also, search the site for a Scholastic summer reading list.

Half-Price Books Summer Reading - HPB Summer Reading Camp Kids 14 and under read for 15 minutes each day throughout June and July. They record their minutes on a log and when they reach 300 minutes, they receive $5 Half Price Books Bookworm Bucks. Reading logs will be turned in virtually and reading rewards will be sent via email.

Chuck E. Cheese Rewards Program - Reading Rewards  Download a calendar and mark off the days your child completes the item (like chores and reading).  You can then redeem the calendar at a local Chuck E. Cheese for 10 free game tokens.  Runs until Dec. 31, 2021.

Pizza Hut Summer Reading - Camp Bookit Parents, join us for Camp BOOK IT! and keep rewarding your kids all summer long. Track and reward your kids' reading for June, July and August in our digital dashboard. When they meet their monthly reading goal, they'll receive a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza® from Pizza Hut! We'll also share fun activities and book recommendations each week to keep the fun going throughout the summer! Enroll today!
